Pedro Domecq Fundador
Fundador (= founder) is aptly named: it was the first brand to be marketed by Pedro Domecq Loustau in 1874. Fundador was also the first brand marketed as a ‘Brandy de Jerez’.
Pedro Domecq was founded by the Irishman Patrick Murphy, ±1730. Owner since the break up of Allied Domecq in 2005: Beam Global. Beam global is since 2014 (sold for 16,3 billion) part of Japanese Suntory. Today, it is Spain’s largest export brandy and is sold in more than 30 countries. Fundador’s biggest export market is the Philippines, where it has been the clear leader for more than a century.
